COVID Updates

McGregor ISD is committed to transparency and providing you with factual information about COVID safety.  The district's COVID Dashboard will be updated as often as necessary to reflect any current active cases within the district.

We will continue to post COVID safety information on this page and in the Superintendent's weekly newsletters which are sent via email.  Parents are encouraged to check their account settings in their Skyward Family account to ensure their email address is correct.  All district newsletters will be sent to this email address.  To add or change an email address you must login to your Skyward Family Access account, click the My Account link (top right), enter your email address under Account Settings in the "Email" box, and click the Save button (top right).

MISD COVID-19 Dashboard

Based on a review of the science, McGregor ISD will be implementing a new 3-stage COVID protocol beginning Tuesday, September 7. You can see the plan below. Here are the highlights:
  • Stage 1 (Positivity Rate < 2%)
    • Masks encouraged but not required
    • Quarantining of siblings/close contacts in the same household
    • Short-term campus closures if needed
  • Stage 2 (Positivity Rate between 2% and 5%)
    • Face coverings required for seven (7) days or until the positivity rate drops below 2%, whichever is longer
    • Quarantining of siblings/close contacts in the same household
    • Short-term campus closures if needed
  • Stage 3 (Positivity Rate > 5%)
    • Campus closure
In addition, CDC guidance states that individuals over 2 years old should wear a mask while on public transportation. They further state that the masking requirement applies to school buses. Beginning next Tuesday, all bus riders will need to wear a face covering.

What can you do to help:
  • Do not send your child to school if they are exhibiting COVID symptoms; contact the school to arrange for a COVID test to be administered
  • Do not administer medications that mask symptoms and then send your child to school
  • Consider keeping all of your children at home if anyone in the home is positive for COVID
  • Consider having your child wear a mask especially if they are not vaccinated or are not eligible for the vaccine
  • Consider having your child vaccinated if they are eligible
