The District 19-AAA Junior High District Track Meet is scheduled for this Thursday, April 6th. All sources indicate that the weather will be an issue on Thursday. Given that this is a holiday weekend, and the forecast continues to call for rain, moving the meet to Friday or Saturday is not prudent. Therefore, the District Executive Committee has opted to move the meet to Wednesday, April 5th.
UIL rules state that no event can start before school is dismissed. The rules also state that no event can start after 10:00 p.m. on a school night. To ensure that we have ample time for all of our athletes to compete, we will dismiss classes at 2:30 p.m. at the Junior High only on Wednesday, April 5th. The meet will begin at 3:00 p.m.
While classes will dismiss at 2:30 p.m., buses will not run until 3:45 p.m. Parents of junior high students not participating in the track meet may pick up their children at 2:30 p.m. All bus-eligible students may remain at school and ride the bus at the regularly scheduled time.
