MISD COVID Protocol

McGregor ISD COVID Protocol
Based on a review of the science, McGregor ISD will be implementing a new 3-stage COVID protocol beginning Tuesday, September 7th. You can see the plan below. Here are the highlights:
  • Stage 1 (Positivity Rate < 2%)
    • Masks encouraged but not required
    • Quarantining of siblings/close contacts in the same household
    • Short-term campus closures if needed
  • Stage 2 (Positivity Rate between 2% and 5%)
    • Face coverings required for seven (7) days or until the positivity rate drops below 2%, whichever is longer
    • Quarantining of siblings/close contacts in the same household
    • Short-term campus closures if needed
  • Stage 3 (Positivity Rate > 5%)
    • Campus closure
In addition, CDC guidance states that individuals over 2 years old should wear a mask while on public transportation. They further state that the masking requirement applies to school buses. Beginning Tuesday, September 7th, all bus riders will need to wear a face covering.

Please help us. We can implement any number of mitigation strategies. Without your cooperation, we will not be successful. Please continue to do all of the things we have asked you to do these past two weeks. When decisions are made based on the plan, please work with us.

If we don't work together we face the very real risk of multiple school closures. These closures could involve the cancelation of extracurricular activities and the loss of holidays or an extension of the school year to meet the state's requirements for hours of instruction.

Thank you in advance for your understanding and for doing your part to keep us all safe!
